Building safer digital futures for families and communities.
Cyber Safe Families was founded to address a critical gap in digital safety education—providing comprehensive, age-appropriate guidance that brings students and parents together in the journey toward online safety.
Our Mission
To empower families and communities with accessible, evidence-informed digital safety education that brings students and parents together to create safer online environments for children at every stage.
How we got started
Ever been to a workshop or watched a YouTube video and felt empowered to action - only to almost immediately feel overwhelmed and not know where to start? We've been there too.
Cyber Safe Families was born from the recognition that digital safety education needs to be accessible, practical, and family-centered. With multiple nephews, two children of his own, and with over two decades of experience in IT and cybersecurity, founder Matthew Vaerewyck has witnessed firsthand the evolving challenges families face in the digital world.
Working closely with teachers and educators, we've developed this comprehensive, age-appropriate program to provide parents, schools, PTAs, and community organizations with ready-to-use resources that meet existing and future federal education standards. The curriculum bridges the gap between technical expertise and classroom implementation, ensuring that both students and their parents receive aligned, relavant, and actionable information.
Every lesson, workshop, and resource is designed with real-world application in mind — moving beyond simple awareness to actionable strategies that families can implement immediately. Our commitment is to empower communities with the tools and knowledge they need to create safer digital environments for children at every developmental stage.
